Flick Fighters
Please download the game for better mouse controls.
Master the art of flick warfare!
A digital version of the games we all love to play with our Gogo's Crazy Bones figurines, Flick Fighters is a toy battle game set in a cozy living room during the festive period!
The aim of the game is to knock all five of the opposing team's figures off of the coffee table, using careful aim and the right amount of flick power.
Submitted for the Week Sauce December 2022 Game Jam with the theme 'Make a game based on a favorite gift you received as a child.'
How To Play:
1) Once each player has selected a team of five figures, you'll be transported to the battlefield. The player whose turn it is will be indicated in red or blue.
2) Select a figure on the battlefield by clicking on it. Only the figures owned by the active player may be selected.
3) Once selected, move the mouse left and right to rotate the camera and aim your fighter. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse downwards to add power to your flick.
4) Releasing the left mouse button will launch your figure in a straight line. Hitting into other figures will knock them! Once the dust has settled, the next player will have their turn.
5) Repeat steps 2 -4 until all the figures of a team have been knocked off of the table. Be the last player still on the table to win!

A lot of fun and the aesthetics are quite nice!!!
Thank you so much for participating in the jam! This was so fun to play. what a great game.
Oooh, there's a lot to like here! This looks and feels really nice, some lovely camera work too.
A couple of problems I ran into;
* Playing on a multi-screen setup (not sure if that matters), but using the mouse to control the rotation of each team member was really difficult. Sometimes they seemed to not be able to rotate, then the mouse would be outside of the main window and on to another one. I often ended up pointing in directions I didn't want to be.
* When the game ends and I select Main Menu I'm taken to an empty Unity level (grey/blue sky sphere etc)
Not sure if this is an issue or not, or just part of the design, but I was also able to select an entire team of the same figure.
All the above is offered to help, hope its received in that way.
As I said at the start, there's a lot to really like in this game, the models, artwork, sound, game idea, camera work, its all really nice.
Hi Rob, thank you for checking out our game and for your comments!
The mouse doesn't seem to be locked in the browser version of the game which is causing some control issues - in the meantime please play the downloadable version instead! The main menu button has now been fixed.
Being able to select the same figure multiple times is part of the design - it allows for greater selection variation for each team.
Thanks again for taking the time to comment, have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Hey Joe,
Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, I guess that's perhaps default behaviour for the web-browesr version. I had tried it in full screen mode also, but I was still able to move the mouse out of the game on to one of my other screens. I might be an "edge case" etc, e.g. someone playing the web version, full-screen, with only one monitor would probably not have the issue at all.
I download the executable and played it - love it, the problem with the control was removed. I could lift the mouse up and move it again where necessary to rotate etc. Just had another happy game. This really is a lot of fun.
I noted the Windows Defender blue screen/popup thing, something that might help you there is this:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmission
Its free. You upload your file (the exe), they'll scan it (normally fairly quickly), and assuming it passes (which mine always have), Windows Defender won't then pop the blue screen warning up about. Which can help remove that feeling of "can I trust this" etc. The only downside, and they do mention it when you get the report, is that you need to do this per-version, e.g. if you release an update, you need to do it again. The alternative is to pay for a trust certificate from what I can see, but obviously that costs.
Just wanted to share in case this was of use. :)
Love the game, congrats to you and the team :)
